    CEO/Co-Founder

    Aaron Turner

With a background in pre-habilitation practices and post injury rehab, Aaron has a knack for working around injuries in order to help anyone become the athlete they have always wanted to be, at any age. During his 10 years as a Strength Trainer he excelled at discovering WHY his clients ended up being so unable to do simple things like getting on and off the ground or balancing on one foot.
After realizing these trends he put efforts into bodyweight training (calisthenics), learning Animal Flow, a ground-based movement system designed to improve the HUMAN ANIMAL, as well as soon becoming a TFC Pro with The Foot Collective, a group dedicated to restoring natural foot function to the masses through fun-forward balance training. All of which at aim at high funtionality so we can all age gracefully!

    Julio Zavala

Julio brings tremendous value to the Steel Mace practice here at St. Pete Calisthenics.
Steel Mace Flow is an unconventional functional movement system that utilizes the steel mace. In ancient times the mace was known as a gada. Due to the offset weight distribution the gada was able to utilize the momentum of a swing to cause great damage to its target. In present day the mace is utilized as a tool to bring the mind body and spirit into alignment through a system of dynamic movement and flow aka transient hypofrontality.
Steel Mace Flow is an ancient balance of dynamic movement, dance, strength training, endurance and flow. Because of its ability to grant access to pain-free movement, grace and strength it has become the focal point of my own personal training practice and I am excited to share this with you!
Join Julio for his Steel Mace Foundations class on Saturday mornings at 9:30am!

Come learn how you can improve your Human Animal with us through fun forms of ground-based movements that simply make you feel like a kid again!
Q runs our Sunday Animal Flow L1 class every other week, and Aaron does the opposing Sundays.

    Ashley Fredericks

Her passion for movement and new experiences brought her to this practice. Ashley is a licensed therapist from CO, trained in trauma-informed yoga/vinyasa. Ashley incorporates elements of psycho education, introspection and opportunities for self-reflection.
What you might experience in a class with Ashley is a vinyasa styled class to varying degrees, featuring moments for connection to yourself and others. Ashley brings a warm playfulness that will allow you to move from your mind and into the body with grace, curiosity and ease. Some have said “Ashley’s classes feel like an adventure, like there’s a blank canvas and she’s just creating art.”
